Die romantische Kleinstadt Rothenburg ob der Tauber liegt im Norden Bayerns. Bekannt ist sie vor allem wegen ihrer gut erhaltenen Altstadt aus dem Mittelalter. Wunderschöne Fachwerkhäuser und stille Winkel befinden sich entlang der kopfsteingepflasterten Straßen. Am Ende der engen Altstadtgassen ist man urplötzlich im Zentrum der Stadt und trifft auf das imposante Rathaus. Mit ein wenig Anstrengung geht es hier ganze 220 Stufen in die Höhe. Vom Rathausturm ist der Ausblick über die Stadt, das Taubertal und die Frankenhöhe einfach herrlich. Die Stadt ist übrigens Heimat des Weihnachtsmuseums mit historischen Christbaumkugeln und erzgebirgischen Weihnachtspyramiden.
