I have Windows 11 evaluation build 22478. I switched out of the DEV channel to the Beta channel so I remain on that build. I have a Surface 5 Pro. I know it is not ideal for Age of Empires II DE but it worked surprisingly well… up to this week. AOE showed update available in my XBOX window. I got consistent install error 0x00000001. This is a non-specific error code. After a few tries, the game icon itself disappeared and the game was not even installed. The games appear in my library and indicate I own it, but I cannot install it. My surface is up to date. There are no Windows 11 updates available until a new Beta release flights. Also have plenty of room for install, My main concern is why the game will not install.
@EagleChiri : I used the Steam version on a Surface Laptop PC + Copilot with a Snapdragon x Elite. I got an ~870 benchmark score, so I can play 1x1 multiplayer. I haven’t tried multiplayer yet, but I tried a 2x3 Skirmish, and it was playable with lags, freezes, etc. I’m quite disappointed that Microsoft doesn’t support its own games.
Merci pour le coup de main, j’ai eu exactement le même souci, donc grosse frayeur car je ne me voyais pas réinstaller complètement l’ordi devant ce message alarmant. Je pense que le souci vient de la dernière maj microsoft qui fait sauter la connexion xbox/steam à notre compte microsoft. Donc je suis parti sur le MSSTORE, j’étais logué je me suis délogué puis relogué. J’ai ensuite lancé l’application xbox sur mon pc par l’invite de commande (à ne pas confondre avec l’autre appli WIN + G). Une fois dedans vous allez sur le compte, puis dans paramètre un bouton vous propose de vous lier au compte MS du MSSTORE. Plus aucun soucis sur le jeu derrière ces actions.
