Die Lagerung erfolgt neben ehemaligen Sherry Fässern auch in ehemaligen Bourbon Fässern. Der erste Macallan, der eine doppelte Lagerung erfährt.
Das Design der Geschenkbox und des Flaschenetiketts wurden vom Surrealismus inspiriert und vom französischen Künstler Albert Simone gestaltet. Es sind die "six pillars" von Macallan zu sehen.
