Once a wild horse has been mounted, it’s time to break it. To do it, you need to move the left stick in the opposite direction of the horse’s movement. After a short while, the game will notify you of your success. You can also move the saddle to the new horse if you want to take it your main horse.
You’ll unlock the fifth Trapper location once you’ve completed the storyline, thus unlocking the partial Red Dead Redemption map hidden in the game. This Trapper is camping southwest of Manzanita Post, right below the “S” in the Tall Trees caption on your map.
As herbs grow in the wild, you will often have to travel away from the main roads, so don’t be afraid to take detours when heading from one story mission to the next in the story mode. Herbs are found in the same way in Red Dead Online, so make sure to activate Eagle Eye as often as you can while in Free Roam mode to spot and pick them up. As money is hard to come by in the online mode , you may also want to sell unneeded herbs for a small profit.
Legendary Animals, on the contrary, don’t count at all toward progression for either trophy/achievement. Still, you should skin them as the obtained items can be used to craft talismans and trinkets which unlock some useful permanent perks for your character.
Whenever you find yourself performing a less than legal act, you’ll quickly notice that any crime that does not go unseen will bring down the fury of the lawmen and affect your standing with the people of the world. The Wanted and Honor systems are worth getting well acquainted with, and luckily we have both covered extensively. Speaking of gameplay systems worth getting acquainted with – it really isn’t a Red Dead title without Deadeye !
