Australia’s left-hander Travis Head is one of the most aggressive batters in world cricket and can even bowl handy off-spin. Head is known for stepping up on big occasions as reflected by his match-winning centuries in the World Test Championship 2021-23 final and ODI World Cup 2023 final. The Australian opener strikes at over 160 in T20Is and over 170 in the IPL. He previously represented RCB but made a move to SRH in 2024 that saw him score 567 runs in 15 games including one century as well as a joint-fastest fifty by an SRH batter (16 balls). Head formed a potent opening partnership with Abhishek Sharma and is expected to deliver the same again after being retained by SRH for TATA IPL 2025.

His ability to score quickly with his innovative stroke play and deliver consistently saw him being retained by MI for TATA IPL 2025.

A buzzing Coca Cola Arena saw the fans make their debut at an IPL Auction and the excitement was palpable as the teams went all out in securing the services of some of the top players in the world. All-rounder Harshal Patel was the most expensive Indian player at the 2024 Player Auction as he attracted a bid of INR Crore from PBKS.
A total of 72 players were sold, including 30 overseas players, with INR Crore spent on a record-breaking day at the Auction. The 10 teams are set for a breathtaking IPL 2024 season and the countdown has begun!
