Party Mode is an alternate game mode introduced in season 2 . It is a set of cooperative four player minigames; each minigame has four waves each that increase in difficulty, with a boss fight at the end if five boss tokens are collected during the final wave. These bosses are fought using the minigame mechanics in combination with rocket items. Each wave is under a time limit—stopwatches can be found scattered around the map that add five seconds to the clock. The maps on offer are highly modified versions of the ones used in Competitive Mode.

There are even more Powers available in the full game, which can be unlocked by earning Badges while playing. While the other Powers aren’t available in the Free Trial, any progression you make during the Free Trial carries over upon purchase of the Standard or Deluxe Edition!

Game Informer felt like each character played like their mainline counterparts, writing, "Controlling Crash – or one of nine other starting characters from the franchise – feels wonderful". [ 17 ] Destructoid criticized the game's monetization, but praised the focus on player agency: "I've seen plenty of matches where individual players can make the difference in a marked way, cleaning up an entire team or blowing a crucial cooldown to defend a base when the enemy has the fruit they need to dunk and win".
