En effet, selon ce dernier, la compilation God of War regroupant les jeux de la saga grecque devrait être annoncées le mois prochain pour les 20 ans de la saga. On ne sait pas encore si Sony organisera un State of Play dédié ou si l’annonce sera uniquement réalisée par l’intermédiaire d’un trailer ou d’un post sur le PlayStation Blog. Mais, visiblement, le retour de Kratos dans sa jeunesse semble imminent.
God of War: Ghost of Sparta was first released in North America on November 2, 2010, for the PlayStation Portable. Set between the events of God of War and Betrayal , the God of War Kratos is still haunted by visions of his mortal past and embarks on a quest to discover his origins by finding his mother, Callisto. He learns that his brother Deimos was taken by the gods and imprisoned by the God of Death, Thanatos , and decides to find and save his sibling. Although successful, Thanatos engages the brothers in combat, and kills Deimos. Kratos then kills Thanatos and returns to Olympus, further enraged at the gods. [ 7 ]

En récompense de ses exploits, Kratos devient le nouveau Dieu de la guerre mais n'obtient aucunement l'effacement de ses crimes et de ses souvenirs douloureux, à son grand désaroi. À la suite de cet échec, qu'il prend pour une nouvelle trahison, Kratos se déchaine au point de devenir incontrôlable, ce qui déplait aux dieux qui le bannissent de l' Olympe . Kratos entame alors une nouvelle croisade mais cette fois-ci contre Zeus en personne. Il s'allie pour cela avec les titans , précédentes divinités déchues par Zeus, et provoque une grande guerre qui causera la chute des dieux de l'Olympe mais également des titans eux-mêmes qui l'ont aussi abandonné lors de la bataille finale.
En résumé, il est difficile de donner une date de sortie précise pour God of War 6 , mais on peut s’attendre à ce qu’il sorte entre 2025 et 2026 , sur PlayStation 5 .
